Update NDI Tools to 6.0 on NC2?

Is it safe to install updated NDI Tools on an NC2? Does the NC2 software even use the NDI Tools libraries or is it compiled with the older libraries already in it? Currently it looks like our NC2s are using version 5.1.4.0 of NDI.
 
You can install NDI Tools 6 on a NC2 unit. It will not change the version of NDI used by the NC2 software itself, that will occur when there is an update to the main software on the system.

NDI is backwards compatible, installing NDI 6 is compatible with previous versions. I've installed NDI Tools 6 on just about all systems I have, and the major right now are running NDI 5.x version libraries.
