I currently need to replace a faulty RS-8. I was thinking of building an custom Arduino based control surface which behaves like the original RS-8.
However I hit a road block: Although I know which commands the RS-8 sends via serial (over USB) if a button is pressed I'm a bit stuck on the commands the VT sends to light up the buttons.
So does anybody have any more information about the serial protocol the RS-8 uses? Especially for lighting up buttons?
