What is Happening with LW?

I can confirm that NewTek "let me go" on the 20th of August. I made sure there's a PDF of the wiki in my notice period in case NT decides to also shut the wiki down. I would encourage everyone to download it. It's not perfect by any means because the export procedure didn't like that I use a heading for captions but it should all be there - bar the animgifs or example files (get them while you can).

It's mostly been a fun twenty years or so but as someone wiser than me said (Gandalf?! ;) ), this too shall pass.

I don't seem to be able to edit my profile. I can change all the details but I'm assuming what should be a save button at the bottom of the page is not there.

Sorry to ask such a silly question but where do I find the PDF to download it ?

It's of Persian origin, apparently, but it's been appropriated by a lot of people, Gandalf not included :D As for the thanks, thank you for working tirelessly on the forum helping to illuminate people!

Oh that's sad indeed. You and Deuce are probably the two at NT I had most time communicating with, especially Deuce, he helped me out many times. The only other i know there is Ken Nign.
 
I really liked the way the docs were going. like many aspects of lightwave, there was a lot of bellyaching on the forum, but you guys made tons of improvements over the last couple years. Sad to see that it’s over.
 
It is very sad to see such people leave the LW. All the same, something too strange is happening with the company. I don't want to think that someday I will have to change the LW for something else. But all these events are still alarming.

Lightwave - one of the best pieces of IP that an owner let go down the toilet. I guess the Luxology boys had it right all along - a divorce.

@Off, I still have an amazing scene you did that you kindly gave me (not sure where it is right now). It was an airship, I think? Very complex scene with loads of objects... @hypersuperduper Thanks, we were setting things up to make the docs context-sensitive soon, and so many other things. Gah. :(

Bit late to this news, but is a great shame to hear that you're not working for NT anymore Ben.
You've done a great job with the documentation over recent years, and it is a bit unnerving to hear about all the talented folks leavign and being reassigned.
