Deer in the headlight look?I'm asking this because Lightwave has been mostly the only 3D package that I have worked with. I do have Blender on my computer but when I open it up I have that deer in the headlight look. So how can we get back to date?
In a worst case scenario, where do the legal ownership rights lie if this happened.if Lightwave is valued by them as non profitable, the product will just be chopped off from their product line
most likely not..apart from third party code..and apart from if they sell the product to another developer..and honestly from an lw user customer point of view .the latter can probably be excluded from a "worse case scenario"In a worst case scenario, where do the legal ownership rights lie if this happened.
Could someone legally continue to develop LW code outside of Vizrt, if the product was no longer offered by them.
Years and years ago Steve (former LightWave user) argued that it would take Newtek's LightWave developer team at least 5 years to update LightWave into a modern unified application.Money, Developers, Programmers and time. None of these seem to be on vizRT radar at the moment.
exactly that..if at that time isnt even a single release and just silence..then i really dont believe there will a rewrite or modernization at all...just dead or sold.oh, was thinking he meant there will be 2-3 years till we Really know where the heck LightWave is going.
