Want to create a scarf

So I want to create a scarf with a stripe pattern that will be wrapped around a characters neck. I'm unsure how to do it accurately. I'm trying to get the same look from a source photo. If I sculpt it in zbrush I still need to get the pattern mapped correctly. I'm unsure how to tackle it in LW. Any tips? What's the best approach to achieve my goal? Any tuts anywhere that could help?

Just model it maybe? ABF UV unwrap will do the job of creating a nice rectangular UV so you can put your graphic on it.

In the end I created a long rectangle in modeler, uv mapped it and exported it to marvelous designer where I could wrap it around a model. Then I imported it back into lightwave.

Well yeah. :) I picked up MD 6.5 several years ago cheap on Steam and use for the things LW struggles with like this. Now though I generally use Blender to supplement LW when it comes to cloth.
