Mostly just to get Mearly a Test off the list here.
Anyone still using Inspire 3D?

Just out of curiosity, found it still runs in Classic mode on OSX.4.8

And on an ironic note; It cost about the same as my upgrade to LW 9+LwCad+Vue5Infinite.

What a world.

Well, it does just seem to be using up space with no post in a very long time.

On the other hand, I suppose it's not hurting anything - and there are few here who remember.

Inspire is what got me started in Lightwave, I had a few quid left after buying Max (Arrggggghhh), and bought Inspire, three months later Max was gone and thanks to a nice guy named Kevin I had LW6.5, no looking back.

This may be the slowest thread on the board, but it doesn't die! The stories about how you got started are "Inspiring".

Been waiting for it to die, of course we have just bumped it back up to the top again. Let it die!

NO WAY!
inspire 3d got me into proper 3d after playing with bryce2 and poser...just the thought of my 'lite' version of lightwave was nr capable of the stunning stuff seen on Babylon 5 means inspire 3d will always have a warm place to stay!

inspire is/was a very welcome intor into lightwave without spending £2000!

What did it look like - the interface, that is? Did it do NURBS or subpatching? UV's?
Was it a 32 bit app or 16 bit? Was it orphaned or discontinued or just plain abandoned?
Just curious. :)

Is it officially "abandonware" now, i.e. available as a legacy software? Or was it sold?

I bought it. Send me a check for $50,000 and it's all yours. You could call it "Ini-Spire 07".
No extra charge for the name suggestion. :D

Thanks a bunch for the link. Alot of interresting information here! Inspire was indeed very similar to it's bigger brother. :)

If Inspire is truly abandonware (I seriously doubt that anyone is using it anymore commercially) then I'd greatly enjoy a copy of it for nostalgia's sake.

Was it tied to a dongle as well, though?
