Most efficient way to send static images?

What's the most efficient way to send static images via NDI, in terms of CPU usage and network bandwidth, in the context of audio feeds accompanied by a video ident image? If repeatedly sending the same static frame (at PAL or NTSC frame rates), will the NDI compression codec & protocol take care of optimising both things, or should you only submit the video frame once (on initialisation) and again if/when it changes, and the rest of the time only submit audio frames?

You can just send it once at the start and it will be cached by NDI as the image whilst the session is live.
