Hi there-
Our company has been looking for someone to hire at an hourly rate to teach me how to be a better 3d animator. I have been working with Lightwave on and off for 20 years, but is nowhere near an expert. I would say I'm enough to be dangerous. My level of work is good, but it could always be better.
I am not looking for someone to work on a project unless I get super busy and need your help. What I am looking for is someone to spend a few hours here and there to answer questions for me. Maybe teach me a few things. I find it very difficult to learn Lightwave due to the lack of super detailed instructions out there since there are a million attributes to learn. This would be an ongoing relationship and could lead to more work down the road.
Please let me know what your hourly rate is, and if you would be interested in helping me get better at Lightwave. We live in Michigan, so I work 8-5 Eastern time. Any form of online meetings would work.
Must have great communication skills and be patient.
A few examples of what I would need help with:
Thanks,
Tony

A few examples of what I would need help with:
- Surfacing. Examples of how surfacing nodes work. I get the very basics, but someone that can really explain surfacing nodes, gradient textures, procedurals and so on would be helpful.
- UV mapping and weight mapping
- A better understanding of the graph editor and spline controls.
- Examples of how to better manipulate models instead of using tools like the magnet tool.
- No need for character animation/bones
- I seem to have just a bunch of random questions about Lightwave in general, so I understand that most people will never be an expert at all things. I am a one-man show, so I try to be decent in most things including:
- Modeling
- Surfacing
- Lighting
- Camera work
- keyframing
- Here is a sample of my work to at least show you the level of work I am at:
