Future proofing upgrade

We're needing to replace our TC460 due to it not being allowed onto our college network. Is the TC1 still a good option for a studio production setup with the option to stream across our network? Longevity being our primary concern given the financial outlay.

We had the same dilemma and budgeted for the TC1 before the TC2 was announced. The features in the TC2 were too compelling to overlook and we found a way to find the extra funds to get the TC2. While the Control Surface is nice, other then the location and size of the Take/Auto buttons, I would recommend that if you can't afford both the TC2 and the Control Surface, that you just get the TC2 for now and budget for the, hopefully improved, Control Surface later.

Thanks for your reply angoliam. We're thinking we would trade in our TC460 & control surface to offset the pain a little. We currently run 4 cameras via SDI in the studio, but the idea of being able to incorporate Teams into productions has got lots of attention.

Having had a discussion with a couple of UK resellers its not looking great for a TC2 right now, the numbers are sadly beyond what we can justify. So it may have to be TC1 for now...

The TC1 is an excellent device. Most of the features you get with the TC2 can be achieved in the TC1 with a few workarounds. You will not be disappointed with the TC1
