Thank you Raymond. That is a great resolution image of the Original Video Toaster logo.
Thank you, again, Raymond. You are correct; there is some nice marketing information buried there. There is some marketing information buried at ftp.newtek.com that you might explore. If it is anywhere, it is probably in that forgotten FTP space.
(Be sure to virus scan anything you download from there. The obvious malware exists in directories with SCR and EXE files.)
Thank you very much for this high res photo. However this is not what I was looking for.
Thank you.I was down with COVID at the beginning of this month, and when I started to feel more up to it, I thought I'd attempt to recreate the logo in TVPaint and LightWave.
I've managed to create the wings with no problems but the reflection on the wings I've found to be incredibly difficult to reproduce accurately. For the life of me I can't think of how they did it.
I'm starting to think the logo was not created in 3D and was somehow created in 2D only.
I'm sure I'll crack it, but I know it's going to require some cheating.
It looks like a simple reflection map/gradient.the reflection on the wings
It looks like a simple reflection map/gradient.
Other than that...I'd probably just paint it in 2D.
I used to do cheesy airbrush paintings for cars and motorcycles (van art) of chrome robots and animals.
Something like the attached picture...but stuff like that fell out of fashion. Haven't worked with "real" paint since 1997.![]()
