Extra Buffer nodes

hmm

i linked alpha buffer to the image node to check the output ...
i seems to work now..

yes indeed i used jpg format ...
about weather i send you a pm

DCImageFilter is from DCreation,
Get Extra Buffer node could work with it,
but DCreation's one and mine have different
Render Buffer nodes which are not compatible.
I think that DCImageFilter and DCPixelFilter
have something to do with Unreal node/shader.

Denis.

ok thanks

i tried adaptative sampling ...
if it works fine with the first buffer, i have artifacts with the others ...
can someone check that ?

As said in the doc:
"Force AntiAliasing Buffer x" doesn't work, if you add more samples in the new 9.2 motion blur, or use current motion blur with Adaptive Sampling.

No way to solve this, since a surface node can't be informed
about the way a spot/pixel is sampled, especially to distinguish
AA and MB with Adaptive Sampling.
Adaptive Sampling should work without MB, and
MB should work with full AA.

Yo Denis,

after other tests, it seems it doesn't work with radiosity : artefact appears.
It's not possible to put a save path in the buffer 4 : you can only save at the root.

This has been fixed for x32 ExtraBuffer nodes.

Depends of your setup, and what you expect to do,
but I don't think this kind of thing could be solved
inside the Store Extra Buffer node, this is like filtering reflections,
unexpected rays should be stopped with Spot Info and Logic nodes,
and I know this is a more complicated and tedious setup.

Denis.

Updated Extra Buffer nodes (x32):
works now for rendering image sequences.

Pixel Filter node editor (x32) has also been updated,
didn't output original alpha by default (no alpha connection).

Denis.

No didn't sleep this night...
especially because last updates broke somethings
in nodePixelFilter and ExtraBuffernodes,
prewiew of ExtraBuffer was lost in both Filter Editor.
Hope that fixes I made today (x32 not fully tested)
stabilize this steps.

rendering image sequences is ok now ... BUT
There is a big problem with Storebuffer :
It makes Lightwave become unstable and buggy
-when you turn on AS
-when you turn on Photoreal MB
the main render is crap and jaggy ( similar to the render of the buffer of old version of this plug) even if you don't render anything with the getbuffer.
The simple fact to link something to the storebuffer is enough.
For me , if i don't connect anything to it, my lightwave crash during the render.

I was clear enough about AS and MB and especially with
9.2 MB in the short doc, may be you need that I repeat
this is a limitation of evaluating something related to
the LW final rendering and unaccessible data related
to various sampling method from a surface node.
I will study what you say about this crash,
but I can't promise more development.

Not reproductible here, no crash, but this doesn't mean that
this will never occur.

I was lucky with the last fix and I think I have made all
my possible to stabilize these nodes with the LW SDK.
AA and MB are limited ("Force...") and you know there are
not implemented in current LW Buffers, so don't expect more
from me, wait for something else from future LW enhancements
or Michael Wolf with its excellent exrTrader layer buffering.

Denis.

your doc is clear Denis.
I turned on AS and MB after uncheck the nodefilter.
your plug is really interesting so i am frustated to get problem with it.
i know you make your best,as always.

hey guys, its nice to see this getting better and better. Im sorry I have been out of it for a few days but will be back to testing it soon after I finish a project. Cant wait to test out sequences.

I'm having trouble with this on the network. Using LW 9.2, it won't spit out the files i've told it to. It works fine locally (and spits out the tga I told it to) but doesn't spit out any files at all on the network. All the saving is being done using Get Buffers.

I have tested output on a virtual network only,
but this is strange, since it takes the full path
for saving, if you are using UNC path, that
should work.

Denis.

Oh I had to plug it into one of the channels in the Node Image Filter for it to activate or something. Odd that it worked regardless locally.
