Casting an iPhone screen with NDI

Stream

Member
Hi,
I haven't come across the info I'm looking for, maybe someone can help.
I don't want to use the iPhone as a camera, I want to cast the screen to
our 460 over NDI, is this possible? What needs to be put on the iPhone to
Make this work?
Thanks in advance.

I just tried this method and it appeared to work.

Install the NDI Mac Tools
Connect iOS device via lightning cable to your Mac.
Start QuickTime Player
In the menu click File -> New Movie Recording
A new window will open. Next to the red record button is a little down arrow. Click that and change the source to your iOS device
Start the NDI Scan Converter. File -> QuickTime Player

That should start the broadcast.
I verified on the local machine (Be sure to mute source/receiver if you're on the same machine)

***EDIT***
Alternatively you could of course just record the content you wish using QuickTime and then use whatever to broadcast the saved movie file. Instead of using Scan Converter. Not sure if this would ensure that the captured image isn't scaled down a bit to fit on the screen.

I'm half developing an iOS app that captures the screen on device and broadcasts the NDI stream directly. Not sure how much demand there is for that solution. If you're interested in that please do let me know.
