animated boolean and Node Editor

Ok, found the problem in erikals' scene, the ball has to many polys. If I replace the ball with a low res one (32x16) it works fine.

Denis, pyo's scene from the other thread renders fine, no memory problems.

"one thread" looks to work, no crashes so far

(used a complex scene too) :]

it gets some black dots, but i'll just remove those in post.
great stuff,

thank you :]

May be too much overlapping polygons
with the displacement for the Boolean node,
result could be also slightly different in Clip Map
using the Texture node editor.

I don't get an high poly ball in your posted scene,
I triangulated the ball for displacement,
test_boolean.jpg

btw, the box you showed is just a bounding
box including the intersection for limiting
calculation.

..Ok I got the correct object,
the original Boolean sample in my Content
directory was loaded instead of yours.

and I can just confirm what I said,
Boolean could not work properly
with such overlapping polygons,
I guess that Modeler Boolean tool
could not handle correctly this kind
of mesh.

Denis.

yes, it looks tricky... using perspective camera helped a bit...

..I modified Boolean node a few builds ago
for clip map + node texture compatibility,
if I remove this modification for retrieving
the old behavior I get this,
test_boolean2.jpg

less artefacts but still problems,

Denis.
