    Same Problem

Same problem here. We have hundreds of quicktime videos (h.264) that used to play fine, now they don't play smooth at all after the 5.2 update.

    Please help!!!

    Single Threaded Decode?

I noticed on our system, which has 4 cores, that while the quicktime movie is playing (jerky) the total CPU usage is steady at around 25%.

I opened up the task manager and set the processor affinity for VT5 to single CPU. Sure enough, that core's CPU usage was 100%.

So VT5 is doing something in the QuickTime decode process in a single thread, and that task is slow enough to peg the CPU.

I notice that when I play the SAME video in QuickTime player, the cpu usage is very low, under 5%.

    So what is VT5 doing?
