    Stargate refrence needed

    OK...

It would be awesome if someone from the show could answer this.

If someone would be so kind as to tell me the inside and outside diameter of the stargate.

And the length and width of a puddle jumper.

I have some models of them that I want to use for my short that I'm making but the stargate I have is 15km wide and the jumper is about 40 feet wide. Just a little discrepancy.

Also I looked on wiki and the if the measurements given are correct then the jumper cant fit in the gate unless the diameter given for the gate is the inside diameter.

    thanks

God, how nerdy is this.. but the wikipedia entry says the gate is 22 feet in diameter (assume outer diameter), and the puddle jumper is 16 feet wide.

Well today I downloaded the model thats avalible at the lw3d boards and its inside diameter is 15 feet. thats a very tight fit.

However the jumper from there is only 13 feet.

So whos right wiki or the guy that posted the models there?

Dunno.. Depends if the guy that made them did them to scale.
Size up the models to the specs given on wiki and find out

It could also depend on wether or not the jumpers thruster thingies are extended or not.

I remember 1 episode ages ago where the jumper got stuck in the gate as the thrusters did not retract properly before it went through so it sounds about right in all cases.
