Lightbulb Network renderfarm VIA new Apple Ip Firewire?

We spoke about this a while ago waiting for Apple to release this. Now that its out even in the description is speaks about cluster abilities and suitabilities.
Firewire means plug and play and less wires, also leaving the ethernet port for the cable modem, and sharing internet via macs with FW.

I think the main advantage of using IP over Firewire is that it is cheaper than Ethernet. A Firewire hub is cheaper than an Ethernet hub.

I think the speed of Firewire800 is comparable to giga-Ethernet for everyday practical uses.

A lot of Cable/DSL modems connect to the USB port (to appease the Windows crowd). If you're ever buying a high speed modem, try to get one that goes into the Ethernet or Firewire ports.

Worry about your own morals, not someone else's!
