    New Copy/Paste UV plugin

    I made Copy/Paste UV plugin, as an alternative for standard Copy/Paste UV commands.

    Advantages of new plugin:
    - supports continuous and discontinuous UVs;
    - does not depent on the object creation history (i.e. points numbers and their topological order);
    - does not depend on the order of polygons selection;
    - can paste UVs onto mirrored geometry (ex. you make UVs for right hand, copy them and paste onto left hand).

    best regards,
    Nitisara.

    thanks Nitisara, I'll try this out soon. I had a problem about a month ago where I think I could have used your plugin very well...

    This sounds like EXACTLY what I need right noiw, I am cutting and pasting UVs with the standard plugins and having issues with discontinuous points.

    I installed your plugins but everytime I run your version of copy uvs it crashes Modeler. I tried stripping a lot of layers out so I am working with minimal geometry, but still no good.

    Do you have any advice that might help?

    It crashes even on primitives or only on your models?

    Plugin has issues

    At first it looks like it works; in the UV view the polys you copy to have the same layout as the ones you copied from ... but in the OpenGl the copy has jumbled up UVs. In other words it doesn't work.
    Win XP LW 9.2 here.

    You can send me object with description of what is not copying - I will check.
    I am using this plugin extensively - it works ok.

    Nitisara, is there any chance of getting 64 bit versions of your plugs?

    WOW! just found this plugin. What a life saver. I'm replacing Zwave (which never worked for me) with this for transferring uv's from ZBrush to LW. 64 version? Please!!!
    Anyways great plugin. Thank you.

    how to use it

    ok, so I installed the plug-in. I select the original object and hit Copy UVs, I then select and identical object that has been randomly rotated, scaled and displaced and hit Paste UVs and an error message appears... "Cannot match polygons". So i did a test and it works fine if you have the exact same object in the exact same position without being rotated of scaled. But if you rotate it, scale it or move the object then I get really bad results or error messages. is this the way its supposed to work? or am i doing something wrong?

    The scene: I have an original tree that I modeled and copied that tree a bazillion time to make a forest the rest of the trees are randomly rotated and scaled. For some reason, the UVs of the copies are messed up but the UVs for the original tree is ok (i think it's because we use .obj to go between maya and lightwave).

    Thanks in advance
