    Rar rant

Would it be possible to post this tut using a more accessible compression algorithm (ie: zip)?

I understand that rar is considered superior by many, but it requires a commercial app to decompress and I'm just not interested in buying *another* such tool.

I know, I know, there's a 30 day free trial version, but I don't feel good about using a tool I have no intention of buying.

Really not a big deal, since I won't be using .NET for my development. It's just that people have said such good things about this tutorial, I was interested in taking a look. As long as it's only available in a rar, I'll just go without.

We'll work on getting a zip version up, just didn't want to delay posting the .rar in the meantime.

To decompress the RAR file, use the PowerArchiver utility, which is free and decompress a lot of formats

It would be nice if you added some info on Dev-C++ too. It seems to be pretty popular among some of the plugin writers. I know you can't add eveyth app but it's pretty popular and is a complete environment for coding.

PowerArchiver is Shareware just like WinRAR.
If you want a Freeware Archiver try IZArc. It reads a LOT of formats...

Although it sometimes does strange things to tar.gz...
