Thread: preferences

    preferences

I want to find my preferences for LW and throw them out. I would know how to find them on a MAC, but I'm on a PC. My sliders plugin won't work and since removing and reloading the plugins didn't fix it, I'm hoping deleting the preferences will.

Where oh where have my preferences gone?
    Thanks

    Hi Marvin,

    What OS are you using?

On Win 2K you will find preferences under C:\documents and settings\(and whatever user name you are.

    Hope that helps.

Sorry about that. I'm using a PC with Win 2K pro. I went to c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator...I found some that had .cfg extensions. I had about four that started with "lw" in the name. Which should I throw out?

Did I already say thanks, by the way? If not then thanks.

You can get rid of all of them if you want all defaults in LightWave. Instead of deleting them, rename them or move them to another folder. That way, if you want, you can put them back.

    Wink

or you could create a folder in the LW Dir

    name it : Configs

and on your short cuts for Mod, Lay, Hub

put the [ -cD:\LightWave_3D_7.0\Configs ] minus the quotes and put a space between the .exe and the -cD of the path

so the whole path would look like:

    D:\LightWave_3D_7.0\Programs\LightWave.exe -cD:\Lightwave_3D_7.0\Configs

so it will access the Config file for all the Configs i did this along time ago because i got tired of searching for the darn configs
