Thumbs down The problem with 7.5b

'Matthew was the engineer responsible for all Macintosh ports of LightWave 3DŽ beginning with version 5.6. 'He single-handedly ported LightWave 3D to Mac OS X. Matthew also contributed to the LightWave toolset by creating the graph (envelope) and image editing systems in LightWave 3D [6], [6.5], [7] and [7.5]. Matthew was with the LightWave development team for nearly 6 years before he chose to join Luxology. Matthew's master's work was in the area of multi-processor computing, a talent and background that Luxology is already putting to great use.

There-in lies the problem, it seems the Mac development team consisted of just one man, who has now joined Lux, I guess this contributed to the 7.5b debacle. Whilst Matt did a fantastic job, that doesn't seem like much of a comittment to the Mac platform from Newtek.

Luxology is an enigma cloaked in NDA's and non compete clauses...

Luxology is what happens when people get fed up and go there own way...
then sit quietly waiting for legal obligations to be met.....

and until then ONLY Luxology, will really know what Luxology is/will be?

don't flame me for this but my gut feeling is Luxology will be releasing a new 3D prog. Perhaps with a sidegrade offer going from Lightwave.

I can see Newtek slowing development of LW and soley concentrating on the HD video market.

    just an opinion.

Hold up a sec, and correct me if I'm wrong.. But isn't there a team developing Mac Lightwave? How could one man port an entire program (three really)? That seems a little odd.
You know you've been learning 3D for too long when you start seeing in procedurals...
