    objects parented to bones

I'm building a character with seperate objects for body parts. (No continuous mesh.)

I want to bone the character. I know you can attach objects to bones and I've done some quick tests to my character but the objects seem to distort when parented to the bone--as tho they are they are a continous mesh. And I've turned off the deformation button...I don't want the objects to distort when they are moved.

I know I'm missing something very simple here. Someone smack me in the forehead with an answer please! hehe

    You have 2 solutions.

_First you can use weights map for bones. For non deformable objects set only one bone with one weight at 100% for each object. For deformable objects use multi bones with multi weights or basic bone deform.
You will have only bones in your hierarchy.

_Or you can use bones for deformable objects and don't use bones for rigid objects. You will need to put each non deformable object in separate layers or save them as separate .lwo files, then parent them properly.
You will have bones and objects at the same time in your hierarchy.

    Hope this is hunderstandable...
