    Mirror POSE - character animation

    Hey.

So, I was using the YS Plugins quite a bit with 2015 and there's a great character pose editor in the Layout plugins that did an excellent job mirroring character poses (for walk cycles and stuff) but it unfortunately doesn't work in 2018+. Is there another plugin out there for mirroring poses that works with Genoma (v1 and v2, like the YS Plugin)? If I remember correctly, RHiggit does this but that's not what I'm looking for.

I found these in the plugins repository:
    https://www.lightwave3d.com/assets/p...se-controller/ - Layout doesn't recognize it
    http://loupguru.com/store/index.php?...products_id=50 - it's no longer available.

    Thanks in advance.

If it does it, why is it not what you seek?

TA Poseworks is now at https://www.liberty3d.com/store/tools/ta-tools/ . However, I wouldn't know if it works on modern LW.

Thanks for the link to TA Poseworks. I'll look into whether or not it works with LW2019.

Regarding RHiggit, I appreciate that a lot of people enjoy it and find it useful but I'm very comfortable with Genoma 1 and 2 and $120 is a hefty price to pay just to mirror a pose; for me, it's simply not worth it.

Thanks again for the TA link.

Pose tools in Rhiggit are part of the "animation toolbox". This is free in a limited form. For 15 pounds, you have access to the full function. http://www.rebelhill.net/html/rhiggit.html

You might also look at Ryan Roye's RR Tools.

As of the last 2018 release, some (actually, most) of the TA tools worked with LW. Because they were written (I think) in the LW 8 cycle, there are some rather hideous work arounds in place for things that are now quite simple to do in lscript. The people over at Liberty 3D know about some of the broken tools, if not all. When I mentioned it to them, they'd like to convert them over to Python, but were lacking in time or people to get it done...

I may have gotten RHiggit confused with RR Tools. There's so much out there.

I'd watched all of the RR Tools videos years ago and I believe this feature was the one I was thinking of: "Mirror Animation: Mirrors everything within the user’s selected heirarchy using common left/right naming conventions. No typing required, just run it and go". If I remember correctly, RR Tools doesn't play nice with skelegons and I LOVE SKELEGONS and LOVE the ability to set up stuff in Modeler. Genoma's a dream, at least for what I do, and one of the major reasons I bought my own copy of Lightwave a few years back after leaving the studio where I'd had access to it. Anyway, RHiggit is an entire subsystem from what I've seen. All I'm looking for is something that can mirror a pose, that's it.

The YS Plugins nailed this perfectly but they unfortunately don't work in 2018+. I'm waiting to hear back from Liberty3D regarding TA Poseworks. So, all I'm really wondering is if there's a free, low-cost plugin out there that can merely (play on words intended) copy a pose and paste it mirrored.

    Thanks again.
