    TC 8000 remote power switch?

    Hi,

We are in the process of moving our Tricaster 8000 to a server room that we won't have access to all the time. We don't want to leave the Tricaster running all the time, so we need a way to access the power switch remotely. Are there any good options for this?
The rooms are only about 10m apart and we can run cables between them. There is also plenty of ethernet running between the rooms.

    Thanks!

Depending on the BIOS you may find your unit has an option for what to do on power restore (always on, always off, or last power state). If so you might do well to set it to 'always on' and then install an IP controllable power point (eg; https://sonoff.itead.cc/en/).

I take it your control surface is USB due to it being on a TC8000. What did you do to extend that as well as keyboard and mouse to another room? I'd like to do the same but the move would only displace the TriCaster by about 15 to 20 feet of cable length. Are you extending via usb to ethernet adaptor?
