Yeah, and hook up motor controls so you can actually drive it around.

A couple of renders I did some time ago, for an (probably permanent) unfinished project.

Only after you've mentioned it, too distracted by the render itself ... yep, Octane at large! At first I literally thought it was a photo ...

As a means for highlighting your subject, I love the lighting - in that shot, "nothing exists except the car."

But I am curious: for lighting, did you just throw down a ground plane and front project the background image (using "matte" for the material)? I'm only asking because the reflections seem to indicate at least a partially outdoors environment? ... I mean, maybe behind the camera the rest of the building is in a totally demolished state ...

But definitely a sweet "bleed" of ground color showing in the render.

Sure! It was supposed to be part II of another shortfilm I did nine years ago. The intention was to create more spectacular action sequences (better char chases, more explosions and a bit of scifi at the end), but for now the project is on hold indefinitely.

I started with native LW renderer (11.6) but moved to Octane. Those test renders were made on a GTX970 at about 10 mins per frame.

    Very nice render!

The paint could probably do with a little roughness to add a little noise to the specular... compared to the car on the right, the spec is super smooth.

Did you use an HDRI for the lighting?
