Prototype AE3 button cap inserts for 450/850/8000 Control Surfaces

We received a partial shipment of our button components yesterday, so we went ahead and assembled a prototype using a very old 855 control surface. We replaced all the buttons labels affected by AE3, and all the labels that were never upgraded from 855 to 860 (such as V1-V8 to M/E 1 to M/E 8). We are also working up versions for 450 and 8000. If anyone needs Mini or LC-11 we may be able to do those too depending on the age of the control surface

The printed plastic insert inside the button cap is replaced with a new blank plastic insert (manufactured by the original button manufacturer that provided them to NewTek), and a printed mylar film label is applied inside the button (under the clear cap). We matched the original NewTek font as close as we could. Except for the fact that our printed film is slightly sharper than the original printed plastic inserts, it is hard to tell the difference.

If there is demand, We will make sets of replacement inserts available for sale to members of the forum following the upcoming NAB show.

Let me know what you think.

I would be interested in buying a few for my TC1 small control panel as I remapped some buttons and it would be cleaner

We are creating pricing and documentation for a "do it yourself" kit for most surfaces, but we could make just the blank inserts available if you wanted to print your own film for a custom cap.

We hope to have the details posted late this week.

I haven't had an 8000 in the office to take any photos. Send me a message and I'll get you ordering information.

Where did you get the white blanks? I purchased the font to print my own transparent labels, but haven't found a source for the white acrylic insert. I even tried some gentle solvent to see if I could wipe the labels off some of the extra keycaps I have lying around here!

Hi Clint - Ive asked elsewhere on the forums about the font. Can you put me out of my misery. What is the name of the font? Cheers!
