    Nvidia has open sourced PhysX

    PhysX will now be the only free, open-source physics solution that takes advantage of GPU acceleration and can handle large virtual environments. It will be available as open source starting Monday, Dec. 3, under the simple BSD-3 license.

    Yeah, I saw that too.. I pretty much had given up on Hurley's stuff, since they have been more buggy than an Amish cruise-in, but maybe he could implement PhysX in his stuff, and maybe somehow would become more stable.. or at least usable?...........

    I made the mistake of purchasing some of his plugins.. they felt incomplete and buggy not to mention very little support. I for one will not be supporting Hurley's plugins any time soon

    dynamics must be some of the trickiest things to get to run stable, and the LightWave community is not that large, (few buyers) thus, less support might be inevitable.
    unfortunate, hopefully it will get better in the near future.

    on the bright side, open sourced PhysX might spawn some nice plugins from other developers as well.

    Sweet! Then I get the opportunity to spend even more on physics crap in LW! Where do I sign up? ;-) Just joshin'! It's all moot anyway, since I'm in the process of migrating to another app (not to be named here in LW forum henceforth).

    That's great news, I need to check what they released exactly.
    It's hard to guess what they'll do next, in one of the previous versions they even deprecated the particle systems.
    The reason was that that they had a newer better API (flex).
    I hope they release the source for the older versions (that had soft bodies etc) too.
