No ISo of NDI sources. Why ?

As many of our clients use Tricaster systems with NDI cameras or sources, more and more often during trainings I do have to explain to clients, or they discover the hard way, that they can't make ISO recording of their NDi sources.... so in a specific case I got yesterday, they can't ISO-rec at all.

I know the trick about assigining inputs to ME or directly MIX Outs, but very often I consider the TC does not have enough outputs busses, so of course we can't even use one just to record a source.

So there is a limitation, OK. But WHY ? What makes recording a NDI source more complicated than a SDI source ?

How do you , users, manage this ?

    best regards,

I don't know the details, but I'm told that recording a NDI source uses more processing power than recording a SDI input. This is the same for TriCaster, VMC1 and NC1 IO units.

IsoCorder will let you record NDI sources using a separate computer.
