    spring animation

    I need to render a spring in a few different positions and while I could create a new model for each pose I figure it would be easier to animate it and render off a few frames. I looked for an FX spring tutorial but didn't see much specific information.

    Is this the right way to handle this and where would I find the info I need?

    As you can see here the problem is that simple scaling flattens out the wire:

    The third party idea was to make it easy, however I just noticed that awSpring is bombing for me in 2018.

    You can still do this with native tools, for several LW versions:

    You don't need 3rd party tools to do this. It's pretty easy and everything is in native LW from ver9 thru 2018. I've created a quick and dirty video capture to explain it here:
