Space simulators, shuttle-ISS-Apollo-Mars colony and more?

    Hi folks,

I thought I should take a look around all kinds of space simulators, free and commercial..upcoming stuff etc.
I am interested to hear what is out that and I havenīt done much research myself yet.

Everything from simulators of old apollo pods, though preferably wiith inside control, to space shuttles and ISS space station, I am also allowing for more sci-fi simulators to have their links here

Virtual Reality stuff is also much welcome since it would be really sweet and immersive with a more realistic feeling of being there.

    So whatīs out there?

    Anyone tried this one?...

A while ago I was able to experience the Apollo 11 flight in VR on the Oculus Rift at a friends place which I found really nice. No control, just as spectator but thanks to 4 room sensors it was very impressive - starting with the elevator ride to the rocket cockpit, the start and different stages of the flight, able to lean out the side windows to see the earth dissappearing etc. One of the best VR experiences I had.

Other than that the Microsoft Flight Simulator used to be very realistic but I don't know if it is still is kept up to date.

There's Kerbal Space Program... The game's motto is "C'mon, its rocket science... How hard can it be?"

Thanks Marander for sharing, I need to get up to speed on VR and stuff like Oculus Rift or similar.

I play KSP all the time...Mainly for the explosions. However, I am slowly working my way to a Moon landing.

    Orbiter, I haven't played.
