    It has been removed.
    I made my own.

Thanks Sensei, is there anyway to buy just that node from you? $50 is pretty steep for something i will rarely us.

Directed at the LW development team:

Please re-add the Spot Info node.
    Favorite Waves: LW3.5, 5.6c, 7.5, 8.5, 9.6, 2015.

    The direct path is:

LW7.5D, LW2015.3, LW2018.0.x running portably on a USB drive on an Amiga 2500 running Wine.

What exactly are you missing? The input node for the instance node editor has the relevant inputs for the instance editor? The Spot node is actually still there, for legacy purposes, but i am not sure if it actually 'works'. if you save a model from 2015 with a spot node in it, import it into 2018 - the spot node will still be attached. What specific spot are you looking for, and are you sure it's not available in the current tools?

My apologies to madmikethespoon, although the question was not addressed to me, I will answer Tobian about this :

I would be more than happy to be wrong, but as far as I know, there is no Input node to access polygon side or bounces or anything in the Node Editor for edges.
For this reason, I had to stick to v2015 for my latest project.

the standard input node in the surface editor has both polygon side and bounces access

    https://docs.lightwave3d.com/display/LW201Input+Nodes

The ray type switch is also very powerful (way moreso than 2015 and below) for allowing you to change material properties for each ray type, such as making an object more luminous or changing it's colour in reflections or radiosity etc, there's a lot of power, and a small example in the Docs

    https://docs.lightwave3d.com/display...ay+Type+Switch

The mesh element switch has a very powerful access to the material properties of all the edge types, so you can specify the material properties of all the edge types

    https://docs.lightwave3d.com/display...Element+Switch

What exactly is it you are 'missing' in 2018 that you had in 2015.3?

Thanks a lot for the links, Tobian. I confess I haven't had the time to give the documentation all the attention it deserves...yet.
That said, all these "switch" nodes only output a material. Don't get me wrong, they have already prove their value in some other projects.
So, I apologies for my ignorance but, I can't see how it could address this very simple need : set the edge opacity based on some information like bounces (or IOR, etc).
In 2015, you just have to output Bounces from the Spot Info node into a Logic node and it's done (here is an example).
I really hope there is a way to do this with 2018. Thanks in advance for your lights on this.

Nice effect, and yes I can see potential issues, but again, what specifically you did in 2015.3 which can't be done in 2018, there's no per material clipping property in 2015 either.

I am sorry if my explanation isn't clear enough, Tobian.

To me it is more than just an effect, it is about the control you have over edges. In short and to summarize, here is an image that illustrate quite well (I hope) the limitation I encounter in 2018, with (Silhouette) edges due to a missing Spot Info node or anything else that could provide a Bounces info in the Node Editor for Edges in 2018.

The thing is that of all the tools have been rebuilt over the time, with their legacy counterparts still there, overcrowding the interface, this little Spot Info node is probably the "legacy" I would have welcome the most in 2018.

Legacy spot is still in Lightwave 2018, it just doesn't show in the interface. if you import as i have said, it will be there for you to copy and paste into that editor.

Yes, I have noticed that, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work (at least in that particular case)

Right. That's a bug. There's probably another path. I'll investigate if I get a chance.
