Exclamation NDI Connect Pro and HLS IP Stream

We built a computer with the following specs:

    i7 CPU
    16 GB Ram
    Windows 10 Pro
    2gb GPU

We have NDI Connect Pro but when we input an HLS stream the video will pause every 10 to 20 seconds. Is there a buffer or way to get a clean stream without the pausing? We are also inputting that same stream into the 3P1 via NDI. We are using a gigabit switch with an internet download speed of 300mb.

Ultimately we want to downstream 3 HLS streams into connect pro that will then be 3 inputs to the 3P1 system via NDI.

    Please advise.

I don't have Connect Pro, but I do know HLS support on NewTek stuff in general is very unreliable.

I've had the most luck using streamlink and then piping the output to whatever I need.

My suggestion is to use streamlink and its --http-player-external option, then pass that URL through to Connect Pro.

Syntax on Windows would be something like this in a command window:

    streamlink.exe "hlsvariant://http://tvemsnbc-lh.akamaihd.net/i/nbcmsnbc_1@122532/master.m3u8" best --player-external-http

streamlink will then start in your command window and show the URLs to pass to Connect Pro (something like http://192.168.1.11:53143)

That is a working HLS feed and command if you'd like to test it. Do note you have to add hlsvariant:// or hls:// in front of your entire http:// feed URL, as in the example above.

Edit: Forgot a link to streamlink https://streamlink.github.io

Thank you for the tip. I will definitely try it out this week.
