    360 vr lw 2018

Hi guys, I am working on a simple scene, and rendering 360 scene using the native 360 camera. The output is a equirectangular video with elements flying around. The camera isnt moving.
What do I have to do next in order to preview the video in Oculus Rift?
    Thanks in advanced

You can view your image using many of the oculus paid/free viewers. Most give you options for 2D image/video, 180 & 360.
    Check with oculus store.

    Cheers

Thanks for your quick reply. Are you saying that I just need sownloading any of the free apps to preview 360 panomaramas and load my image into? Do I need to buy Oculus Rift equipment or I can preview stuff without it? Thanks

You can play it like any movie - but it will have two images (for left and right eye) . You won't be able to "look around" in VR without a headset though. Gear VR is by far the cheapest route to go - but limited compared to Rift and Vive.

Like SteveH said... To be in your Image/Video, you'll need a headset to be able to "look around" 360 degrees. Where you place the camera in the scene and render out the image will be the stand point of your view within the image.

Yeah sorry i assumed you had a oculus rift, which does indeed come with a free 360 viewer.

The vive also has multiple free viewers that can be DL from the steam store.

The Gear VR also has a 360 viewer but getting images to it is a little less straight forward.

Testing on a flat, does not really show you what you need to know. IE how close do things feel is the scale right... etc.

If you want to preview the result on your desktop, get GoPro VR player, which is a free download.

Absolutely, it is designed for GoPro footage.
Plus if you have a headset attached, you can also view whatever is in the GoPro app.
