    yup...then MDD scan it and send to Lightwave 2018 and render with the new lights and surfaces, if that is needed.

    Why not offering some money to Denis for an update compatible with lw 2018? I mean he's got a donate button, we could (if he agrees) pay 10 bucks per person and compensate him for the work, no?

    Good idea, but in dribs and drabs I think the LW community would collectively bungle it (can't blame everything on NT ). Someone like Kat who seems very efficient with group buy-ins and specific deadlines for all parties would have the authority and ability for the community and Denis to know where they stand. I seem to recall a thread with comments from both Denis and Chuck, so I think something may be silently brewing anyway......

    I suspect you mean this thread?

    Where have you seen public indication of some effort underway to resolve?

    Thanks jwiede, that was the one. I think there was some information Denis had been waiting on and Chuck's post seemed to show a willingness to get it sorted (is how I read it anyway).

    Angry

    "Give node’s (sic) descriptive names. You can do this by selecting the node and pressing the N key. Then you can change the name of the node. I like to leave the original name of the node in place so that you know what type of node it is and add a simple description after that."

    A feature I requested LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG ago would be a key-toggle (like SHIFT or TAB) that would interactively toggle between the user-assigned node name and the node's original name. Retaining the original node name in a renamed node uses, imo, far too many characters, but it's very helpful, so a way to have both would be quite welcome.

    The node editor has many Many MANY low-hanging-fruit feature possibilities, with low developer overhead, ie THEY ARE EASY ENHANCEMENTS, not rocket-science.

    ++++++++

    Another LONG TIME SUGGESTION is a "Documentation Node", optimized solely to hold tips and documentation. No effect on the working of the network.

    That's GOT to be easy, right?
