Unfortunately, Vidme is closing it's doors on December 15th.

I created an account on Vimeo and I'll be moving all of my recent tutorials over there. From now on my new stuff will appear on Vimeo. http://www.vimeo.com/carm3d

It's gonna be a bit weird seeing Vidme's logo on them. But the new videos will have a different intro.

Very cool technique! Looks like a lot of work, but could be useful for certain things. It's too bad the Syflex team can't write something into it where you just select the points where you want the tear to happen and it does everything you've laid out here automatically. What would be awesome!

Thanks. I've used SyFlex in XSI and I can tell you it is better. Setting up zippers / tears are much easier. BUT... They still don't "merge" the points. So you would still see a disruption in the shading even when the points are touching. So yeah.. Short of getting a more advanced cloth sim that lets you dynamically tear cloth (which is not an option for Lightwave currently), my little trickie-poo is the only way of getting cloth to look whole and also tear apart.. At least as far as I can tell.
