    White Hart Lane

I'm modelling an accurate-as-possible replica of a now-extinct football stadium in the UK called White Hart Lane. I'm using a Danbury Mint model as well as a ton of reference pictures I've found online and that I took myself when I did a tour of the ground before it was demolished.

The stadium had 36,284 seats which I plan to model as well. I assume the best way to do this both for ease and memory usage would be to use instances? The texturing of said seats might be a challenge as some are coloured differently to make a pattern (see reference pic below) - if I go down the UV route.

I wrote to the football club and they responded saying they would provide me with any blueprints of the old stadium that they still had but I've not heard anything back so I assume they are no longer around. So as I say, the model will be as accurate as I can get it which in all honesty may not be that accurate to the real thing but we'll see!

I also plan to model the immediate surrounding area. I hope my system - and Lightwave - will be up to the task because no doubt the scene will end up being millions of polygons.

I'll post periodic updates for critique. During the course of this project I will no doubt need a lot of advice from you Archviz experts (and I'm doing this without LWCad, can't afford the new version at present).

    Here are some reference pics:

A couple of updates. Up to 53k polys already, this will end up being mammoth.

Hey Adrian - lots of attention to detail!

What's the driver for creating this model/scene? Is this purely a hobby project or is it paid work or ... ?

Yep will be doing all the texturing in LW too. As I'm going I'm creating the UV maps for each part. It's just a hobby project really although once it's done I will send animations/stills over to the club to see what they think. I've not done much archviz work before so I'm learning new stuff doing this and I won't be modelling just the stadium, I want to do the immediate surrounding area too and then render at different times of the day/night.

This stadium no longer exists so that's a major driving force to recreate it, plus all the modelling/lighting challenges.

    I am LOVING this idea.

As a fellow Spurs man and Lightwaver, I'm doubly proud and happy about this (I'll be triple proud if we beat Liverpool today).

I'd be happy help out if I can.

    You

Main parts of East Stand outside structure and roof done, lots of tweaks and small details yet to do, and the loudspeakers on the wall are WAY too big!!

Had to take a break from this due to other commitments but finally had some time to get back into it. Been working on the North Stand outside structure:

I totally missed your reply Shabazzy :-( Well I'm sure you were very happy about the Liverpool result!! Not so about last weekend though, hopefully they can put in a better performance against Dortmund.

The outside of the stadium is now almost complete (385k polys) but still need to do some tidying up and a couple of areas need some adjustments plus some more details added.
