    Loading huge scenes

I have an LWS scene from Voodoo Camera Tracker with a ton of nulls, can't tell exactly how many but maybe 5,000 or more. The scene doesn't load, Or I should say it loads, but then LW is frozen. It's not even taking up much RAM. Anyone have a suggestion for loading the scene? Normally if I can load it I'll use an LScript to convert them all into one object, then delete the nulls and the scene is fine.

Oh yeah, good idea! The scene still freezes if I try to load the whole thing but now I can see there are 18,000 nulls and I can deselect some so they don't load.

Pure guess: disable the main viewport (pick up none from drop-down list).
Some time during loading is taken by refreshing viewports.

    .LWS is text file,
so you can open it in text editor, f.e. ConTEXT
    http://www.contexteditor.org/downloads/
and make duplicate of .lws file.
Then split nulls to couple chunks in different .lws files..

I had considered doing it in a text editor but was trying other things first. Good thought about disabling the viewport. I embedded up redoing the Voodoo project and saving it a scene with fewer nulls. 5000 was the highest I could go.

Loading such scenes will be much, much faster in the new version.

I assumed so. Sadly I don't have the new version.

There is always tommorrow..for most of us alive, and if it doesn´t help today, it might tomorrow, then again...no one knows what tomorrow brings, except the lw team

Here's an old lscript I wrote. The script is dated October 2008 so it's old and I can only assume that it works(no voodoo on this machine). The modeler script reads the lightwave scene from voodoo and creates a point for each null.
