    I really like those seams on the plastic, wierd how the flaws make it look real!

    I think I can see some obvious polys on the wheel rim though...

    Awesome modeling. Very nicely done. Slap some color on that thing and do a nice hdri rendering.

    That's fantastic modelling - can't wait to see it textured.

    I agree about the subtle creases/dents in the model which really make it stand out.

    Did you use images as reference or just do it off the cuff so to speak?

    Could you please tell me your lighting/rendering settings to get that nice clean render? Did you use radiosity?

    Yep. Here's how I set up the render:
    [list=1][*]Create a dome with the polys facing inward. (I include a ground plane in this object for convenience, but give it a separate surface.)[*]On the dome surface, set diffuse to 0 and luminosity to 100%.[*]In layout, bring up the properties dialog on the dome and turn off "self shadow" and "cast shadow".[*]Place your object inside the dome.[*]Turn radiosity on. (monte carlo, 4 x 12 works pretty well) [*]Since radiosity is going to illuminate the scene, the other lighting needs to be cut way back. In this scene I set ambient to 5% (I do this anyway, radiosity or not), and I set the global light intensity to 40% to cut the other lights in the scene down.[*]Hit F9 and go get a sandwich. [/list=1]

    I also like to use half a sky dome, (otherwise as you describe). This gives a bit more directionality to the lighting, but keeps shadows very soft.
