I'm new to Lightwave so bear with me...

I have a model that has about 200 buildings in it.

Now I want to add a 'tin roof' texture to the roofs. (basically paralell lines running from the top of the roof to the gutter)

The problem is the buildings don't all line up so I can't just add one texture and call it good.

I'm wondering if there is a way to apply a set texture to different polygons with different attributes. (rotation is my main deal)

I've played with UV Maps but again I'm having trouble adding it to more than one roof.

I don't want to have to create a new texture for every building so if I want to change the color of the roof I can by just changing the bitmap or color and have it keep the rotations....
