    isolate Scene items (SceneEditor)

Is it possible to script functions that are found in the SceneEditor?

I'm constantly selecting a range of items in the view port Layout, could be Bones or Null Controllers
Then RgtClick in scene editor and choose - 'Selection / Highlight view port selection' then selecting the 'Hide' function
on the panel widget then the 'NoHierarchy' toggle.

Can this be ecapsulated into a single button ? or Would it be possible to make SceneEditor functions scriptable?

here is a list of the functions

    View port
    select Items
    Scene Editor
RgtClick; Selection / Highlight view port selection
Widget - Hide (which hides all other items not selected)
    Widget - No Hierarchy display

It would be nice to have a solo feature button like this in the UI that could be hotkey linked as well. It would also be nice if the Dope Sheet interactively updated this solo mode with selections in the viewport. An item in this column could also have multiple settings for solo mode such as none, locked etc..
