Thread: Python for Lightwave documentation should be online (if it is not already)

Python for Lightwave documentation should be online (if it is not already)

I think should be more comfortable to have Python documentation for Lightwave available online, instead of a download. I noticed that is already written in a html fashion, so why not place it under "learn" in the Lightwave3d site?

Forgive me if it is already somewhere in the site, as i cannot found it.

Indeed. Right now I'm #afc and I'd like to access the doc Jen mentions.

There's ZERO reasons, actually negative reasons, for not making that stuff as easy as possible to get at. You shouldn't even have to be a Lightwave customer to get it-- what reason could there be????

Sure, there's probably only ten people in the world who'd be interested and who'd can't get at it in 24 hours, but place ANY barriers??

For my own use, I emailed the sdks to myself to access on this little p.o.c. netbook. BUT:

WHY would a developer want to limit access to the thing that helps other people SELL THE PRODUCT?

The 11.6 C and Python SDK documentation is now available for online viewing from here:

    Excellent.

BTW, just to cut them an angstrom of slack, LW3dG isn't alone in this type of silliness: IIRC Maxon did the same thing with their help files. WHY you'd want to prevent anybody from reading your help files and start lusting for your product, I don't know.

    That was quick.

    This is perfect. I'm happy.

Also, now Google will pick up this documentation and more developers will have reason, out of curiosity when hits for 3d terminology pop up, to look into Lightwave.

Realistically, maybe it's just a few devs, but it's FREE action, and there's absolutely no reason to hide such information from the world.
