New Rigging Tutorial for everyone. Enjoy!

    Hello all,

I've recently created an IK leg and foot rigging tutorial and uploaded it for anyone interested.

Here are the links to part one and part two:

I'd love to have your feedback!

    Thanks,

Does this tutorial work in 9.6? I did the tutorial & everything is working except the Leg_Ctrl won't move the foot up. Just moves front to back side to side.

All rigging tutorials from version 8 or higher should work with the latest versions of Lightwave. The only major things to be aware of are shortcuts that have been implemented (IE: assign tools), or new tools which have situational uses (IE: spline control).

From what you describe, it sounds like either an axis is assigned wrong, or rest rotation is different from the video (which would change the XYZ axis handles in local coordinate space). Look closely at what your constraints are assigned to relative to rest rotations!

Solved. The knee heading in motion options wasn't set to inverse kinematics & the mesh deformation wasn't set to last. Thanks for the quick reply Ryan. Great tutorial Kurt, hope you get some advertising revenue from Youtube.
