Thread: Video Cards for monitors of 2560x1440 resolution.

Video Cards for monitors of 2560x1440 resolution.

I'm looking at purchasing a new monitor specifically the ASUS 27" PLS LED Monitor with 2560x1440 WQHD. Does anyone else here own a monitor with this kind of resolution? Do you think a GeForceGTX 770 2GB would be sufficient to run at that resolution while working in a 3d application?

You should be fine with that card, I've been runing that resolution for over a year on a GTX 670

I am running 3 monitors off of my single 4gb 680gtx 1-27"@2556x1440 and 2-22"@1680x1050 and have no problems whatsoever. Though I did have to get a mini display-port adapter for one of the screens.

Thanks for the replies guys! I can't wait to get one of these. I thought since I spend long hours every day starring at my monitor I might as well have a good one to stare at. Does anyone have any suggestions of other good monitors that have this resolution?

Check my sig - I am running two Samsungs SA 850 @ 2560x1440 and a 1920x1200 hp screen in portrait mode.

The system runs extremely well (AMD7970 3gb) for 3d apps.

If I may suggest: keep your current screen (and if you can swivel it in portrait mode) for web and reading tutorials.

Also, if you are running multiple screens you may want to invest in some sort of colour calibaration device (like a Spyder Pro, which I have) to calibrate the colours properly. Especially with multiple screens the difference in colour reproduction can be irritating at times.
