Arrow A few things I would like...

After finally joining the new forums here's a few things I would like to see change in Lightwave:

    1. Preset folders within preset folders.
Not unlike the windows start menu, it is very difficult to
organize the presets without this function.

    2. Drag and Drop Functionality.
Being able to drag an image into Lightwave or Modeler would
save me so much time and energy.

    3. Opening the Application from the scene and object files.
Imagine being able to double-click on your object and scene
files and have them open up the corresponding application.
(Like every other file these days)

    4. A dockable Image Preview window.
I'm always dragging around the image preview window and
I sometimes close it by accident, I think if it could be put up
the top with the other tabs it would feel more solid.

    5. Better Multi-Monitor Support.
All the windows I open up (e.g. Numeric Panel, Graph Editor,
Scene Editor, Layer Browser, etc.) and place on the second
window are fine until I either close the individual windows, or
close the application. When they return, they place
themselves back on the original monitor. I wish they would
    remember where I left them.

    6. Point Falloff Shading.
When using different falloff settings, I'd love to see the points
on my objects shaded respectively, I'm more a visual person
than a numbers person, so this would help enormously.

I'm sure there's more.. but this will do for now.
If anyone knows of solutions or work-arounds please let me know. I'll add some more if I think of them.

I agree with your points.... (especially number 1)

But you can already do number #3
If not automatically, change the file assocation in Windows.

The only problem is it will open a new instance of LW or Modeler everytime you click an object, rather than using the same
    instance.

I'm not having any problems with this, so it propably has to do with Windows or NView settings...

    3. Opening the Application from the scene and object files.
Lightwave doesn't automatically associate lwo and lws with the lightwave executable, but you can easily manually associate them.

    disable content directory

maybe this can already be done - but i often work on several unrelated projects in a day, sometimes rendering scenes from project A while modeling an object from project B, and constantly having to redirect layout/modeler from one file to another file to another file is not helping the CTS a bit. a minor thing, i know. i once had a really good feature idea, but i didn't write it down, and now it's gone.
