    lightwave "streaks"

I'm trying to figure out how to do these type of animated streaks in lightwave. Anyone have an idea of how it could be done?

I don't know if lightwave would be the best choice for this kind of effect. you might want to do it in after effects using these: http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/prod...rapcode-suite/

It'll be easier to tweak it in after effects than lightwave.

Can't stream video at work. Does this effect look like the "Streamers" video that Greg Sullivan did?

I know someone here was hosting that SIGGRAPH presentation on their site as Newtek had dropped it.

Maybe a forum search would help?

DStorm's Trailer might be what you're looking for.

But as Sonic says, if you can do it in comp that would be easier to manage. We use Trapcode's 3D stroke a lot for that type of effect.

If you do have and can use after effects, the end results would probably be best from it, check videocopilot for free videos about stroke effects..

    Watch them free online or..
In the upper right corner, check download tutorial for downloading offline tutorial,in the zip files you have to expand down quite a lot before finding the folder with the flv file, use vlc or other free flashplayer for viewing.

Another option is the free fertilizer 2 plugin for lightwave, it will grow anything, takes seconds to set up and is ideal for this kind of thing - if you want to go the 3D route
