The new 850CS measures 28.5 in x 11.5 in ... Are there any plans or ideas on how to integrates this great new tool in a flypack?

    Many thanks!

I don't think so. I've given it some thought and integration would lead to too large a case, unless you're rolling with a behemoth like Pizazz Jef.

Better to do a seperate case like what Jim Davis is cooking up in Pennsylvania.

Jef's rack is not that big... it is just a double rack which is pretty common in the sound world. It still easliy goes through a single door and best yet keeps everything plugged in and ready to go...

Now I have seen some cases for large Encore systems that are Triple cases standing 7' tall and take at least 3 people to move them... (and I should add it take 3 of those to make 1 complete system and about 1 hour of re-connecting the cross cables)

If it has to go freight, it stretches the bounds of portability. But that's just my opinion. [Now to contradict myself with examples to boot] "Portacast" has to go freight and given the name is meant to be portable, but even with as large as a Portacast's flight case is - it still couldn't fit a TCXD850 CS. I'm unconvinced the Jim Davis way (separate case) isn't the way to go.

Colin, one of the best things I ever did was get signed up with continental cargo as a known shipper. It is amazing how cheap it is to ship a roadcase via cargo. And it is there the same day!

I've thought about it - but the new DHS rules (you know, the part where they get to come inspect your place initially, then any time thereafter) just offended my civil libertarian senses.

I was inspected, actually interviewed, the first time by CC but never since. They basically need to confirm you are actually a business thats all.

The DHS circular I got some time ago made it seem like it was more of a way for TSA to determine you weren't shipping meth or box cutters. Maybe it was worded that way just for folks in Washington. You know the Beltway is a reality distortion field, after all.

WPS builds complete custom solutions for your Flypack needs. Don't fall for a fixed-for-all generic setup. It could or could not be useful enough to meet your needs. We've built tons of them. We can completely CAD out your equipment and build the rack to suit, how you want to operate it. Not how others "think" you should operate it. Contact us today to discuss your needs.
    & WPS ROCKS!!!

For a Fly pack or Air pack you require a truck or Van. Most of our clients want carryable cases that fit in a car.
We have created a TC855 case = 4u - shockmount - neoprene wheels and telescopic handle.
There are cut outs in the foam for removable drives during transport, TC8000 fits in it as well.
    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/TC2GO-Newtek-...item519fb5ef7d
also a 855CS case , with or without a Time warp extension.
    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/TC2GO-Newtek-...item519fb604ec
    and a TC8000CS case
    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/TC2GO-TCXD800...item51a28c37f4
These are manageble by one person and available in any color.
We have just finished an airpack , that will house any Tricaster, CS, 27" touch screen LED, with extra rack space for power / audio gear.
    will be posted this week.
Videolink has been making Tricaster cases since the release of Tricaster. We have a specialty case for all needs, and have hundreds of satisfied customers.
We ship anywhere in North America

I'm loving our new Mobile Studios PortaCast. They were thoughtful and helpful putting it together, the design is great- still expandable, and the workmanship is impeccable. I've worked in TV since 1986 and this is the second TriCaster I've worked on. Thanks, Rich!
