Well waddya know? Lee Stranahan work on YouTube

Noticed a Kevin Smith interview and then noticed that is was done by a name that has been around the NT community for years, Lee Stranahan.

If you are a Kevin Smith fan, it's worth a watch. If not, well, you should pass.

I've been wondering what Lee has been up to. Incredibly talented guy that just keeps drifting around.
Good to see he's still around!

Oh, yeah! 'Really enjoyed is Amga-based VideoToaster and LightWave Training Tours. I can recall his being about as sharp in knowledge and wit, as a Don Ballance or even a Ralph Mensanna...

Lee has been at NBC working at EXTRA doing Lightwave for the past few years, I believe. He's been vocal on Huffington Post website, he's a blogger and a "pundit" of sorts. He also does these things like the interview with Kevin Smith.

    check him out at http://leestranahan.com/.

This is an old thread, but apparently a new career for Lee Stranahan...

Just saw this on the CBS Evening News.

My jaw dropped to the floor and remains there as I type this up.

I saw that & wondered if it was the same Lee.

He's dropped a lot of weight since I last saw him & looked pretty fit for the few seconds of screen time.

Took some classes with him when he was in Pasadena.

Wow - that's a change in both look and career! I learned an awful lot from Lee's videos "back in the day", and yes, he looks a lot healthier now!

Yes, he looks MUCH healthier now then way back in Toaster days. Good on him! Just remembered that he was pushing for better rights for VFX artists before he changed careers and dropped off the VFX world map...

I saw him a few times at various NAB's, along with his very talented LW user brother, Ken. I knew Lee's cousin, Kermit Woodall of Nova Design a bit better; Kermit was behind the Amiga image sequence editing program ImageFX. ImageFX, along with Art Department Pro and Imagemaster were the bomb back then. The things you could do with those programs and a bit of simple ARexx scripting...

If you lived the Lightwave life in those early Toaster days, it's always fun to play "Where are they now?". There's lots of intervening Lee history to parse over, much of it very controversial.

He looks healthy. I appreciate his contributions to Newtek in the day.

Comments much beyond that could lead to the Ban Hammer, I'm sure.

I often comment to Lee on facebook about how he is a lightwave hero to me...he said his eyesight was very poor and he didn't do that anymore and that was it...i've commented on his livestreams countless times...just that response..A BUSY GUY!

I had no idea Kermit was related to Lee! I used to love ImageFX - the little quotes before the chapters in the user manual, and I think I got a little green toy soldier once in the box it came in. Brilliant program - so ahead of its time.
