She's better than the old one!
Just one consideration: maybe the eyes must be more roundish, and the mounth corners more inwards(i mean, pointing back to the center of the head ).
    (sorry for bad english )

This is a fun project. You are an ambitious man. :-)

Try a few very different lighting and render styles, print them out and reflect on them for a few days. I'd love to see all this stuff with a dark chocolate or blueberry background and really soft and warm lighting. I bet that look would win in the end. Of course, there's always white background with no square-finish, floating above seamless shadows on white. But I think the more mysterious the better.

    Keep posting as you go!

Just a thought, I have heard of a few animals starting with X, but you could also make one up. Like a xanthie or something. like a blob with legs or something? Might be fun?

I think the eyes need to rounden up a bit more. They look kinda flat. While in real life the eyelids are kinda wrapped around a sphere ( the eyeball ).
