Thread: Background Rendering that's less pushy?

  1. #1

Question Background Rendering that's less pushy?

    Am I missing something?
To the best of my recollection, in VT3 and VT4 there was a preference setting, to tell the background rendering to wait anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds after you last moved the mouse, before it kicked in and started doing it's thing.
In Speed Edit, if it wants to render, it does it immediately and sometimes I can feel it fighting me and slowing down the system response. Occasionally, even to the point of locking up the system.

You are missing it, but it's not in plain sight either

From within the SpeedEDIT filebin, navigate to the SpeedEDIT/Skins/BG Render Profiles folder.
Right-click on the profile you are using and select Properties from the context menu.
The Properties window may take a bit to open, it's huge.
The second option is the amount of time it waits before rendering, in milliseconds. You'll probably have to make this window bigger to read all the options.
When you close this window, it should take effect.
There are TONS of settings in there, so don't go too nuts changing them all at once.
