    modelling real clouds

    Could anyone give me tips on modelling cotton candy, cartoon like clouds? I don't mean with skytracer, I mean more like the intro for these:

    They don't need to be nearly as dynamic as those since they will simply be in the background but they will be moving across the sky. I've tried using balls, bubbles, subpatched squares, etc. but there are so many obvious joints where they primatives meet. Is there anyway to smooth those out?

    Try hyper voxels, or even metaballs (at a decent resolution)
