well rotoscoping was around since way back when so it's probably biting off of that....

if i'm not mistaken, mocap started out as kinematics research tool and then athletics performance analysis wasn't it?

howarthc on youtube replied "That isn't motion capture - it is rotoscoping. It was invented during the production of Snow White by Disney." Well isn't he Mr. Smarty McSmartpants? People like that are really annoying. We're not looking for enlightenment McSmartpants, just a laugh when it comes to the 3 stooges. Who gives a crap who invented anything anway? Unless I'm getting royalty checks from it, I could care less. Not much of a history buff.

I saw a video on Tomorrow Land and the Disney people were capturing data to program the Audioanimatronics. I'd say that the input device sure looked like a mocap rig.

Yeah, I've seen that too. I think they were doing either Abe Lincoln or The Pirates of the Carribean ride. A guy was wearing a wacky harness on his head that looked very uncomfortable.

Some of the YouTube responses seem to not catch on to the joke.

Max Fleisher used rotoscoping way before Disney and Snow White.
